On Sunday, May 3, 2020 at around midnight, the Regina Police Service received multiple calls reporting suspicious behavior in the area of Langley Street and Dunning Crescent. One of those calls included a report of a break and enter in progress on Dunning Crescent. Early information provided to police suggested two male suspects were approached by the homeowner and had fled on foot.
Patrol members established a perimeter and a K9 unit established a track in the area. During the course of the lengthy track, K9 located multiple items of property, and ultimately located and made contact with a suspect male on McNiven Avenue. The male had minor injuries due to the dog bite and was treated on scene by EMS.
The second male was located and arrested by patrol members on McNiven Avenue and Martin Street. As a result:
Thirty year-old Joey ARMSTRONG, of Regina, has been charged with:
- Break Enter & Commit [CC 348 (1)(B)];
- Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Under $5000 [CC 355 (B)].
Thirty-two year-old Robert ARMSTRONG, of Regina, has been charged with:
- Break Enter & Commit [CC 348 (1)(B)];
- Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Under $5000 [CC 355 (B)]
- Fail To Comply With Probation Order [CC 733.1 (1)];
- Fail To Comply With Condition Of A Release Order [CC 145 (5)(A)].
Both Joey ARMSTRONG and Robert ARMSTRONG will make their first court appearances on these charges in Provincial Court on Monday, May 4, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.
