A 24 year-old male is facing charges following investigation into a weekend Break and Enter, and a theft of motor vehicle.
On Saturday, May 23, 2020, at approximately 6:30 a.m., police were dispatched to Green Water Drive in southeast Regina for a report of a break and enter in progress. Information received indicated a male had broken into the residence through the front door and was confronted by the homeowner. The suspect left the scene before police arrived. The residents of the home were not physically injured in this incident. At approximately 6:45 a.m., police were dispatched to a business in the 3700 block Chuka Boulevard, for a report of a stolen van. The stolen van was followed as it left the city, on Highway 33. The vehicle was located, stopped, in a field. Police approached and were able to see the suspect, who appeared to be asleep in the van. The male was taken into custody without further incident. Investigation into these two incidents determined there was evidence the same individual was involved in both events. The male was subsequently charged.
