A 36 year old male is facing multiple charges after a string of break and enters in recent weeks.
On Monday, May 18, 2020, a suspect broke into a residence on Motherwell Crescent and made away with stolen property including Canadian currency and jewlery. The RPS Forensic Identification Team obtained a fingerprint from the residence and police were able to identify a suspect.
On Monday, May 25, 2020 a suspect broke into a residence on the 2800 block of 4th Avenue N and made away with stolen property including Canadian currency, jewelry, personal identification, and a vehicle. The vehicle was recovered by members of the RPS Stolen Auto Unit a short time later and video surveillance was obtained of the suspect. The suspect was the same male who was identified in the May 18 break and enter.
On Monday, June 1 2020, a suspect broke into a business on the 2200 block of Albert Street and made away with stolen property. Police obtained video surveillance and the suspect was identified as the same male who had committed residential break and enters in May.
On Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at approximately 8:50 a.m, the suspect male was located in the area of 14th Avenue and Lorne Street. Police notified the male of his arrest and he fled from police on foot. After a short foot chase, the male was taken into custody by police. As a result:
Thirty six year-old Levi Keegan WALDBILLIG, of Regina, has been charged with:
• 3 X Break Enter and Commit [CC 348 (1)(B)];
• Theft of Motor Vehicle [CC 333.1(1)]; and
• 3 X Fail to Comply With Probation Order [CC 733.1(1)].
WALDBILLIG made his first court appearances on these charges in Provincial Court on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
