On June 4, 2020, at approximately 8:15 p.m., police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Broad Street for the report of a weapons offence.
Information received was that a male and female were in a knife fight, and the male had just assaulted the female with a bladed weapon. Upon arrival, police observed a 60 year-old male and a 21 year-old female, both with wounds consistent with knife assault.
Investigation revealed that the 21 year-old female assaulted the 60 year-old male with a knife. The male then assaulted the female. EMS attended and transported the two to hospital for treatment of injuries. The two were arrested and charged by police.
Sixty year-old Chris SAWICKI, of Toronto, Ontario, is charged with:
- Carry concealed weapon [CC 90];
- Uttering threats [CC 268(1)]; and
- Aggravated assault [CC 264(1)].
Twenty-one year-old Ada Rose KELBAUGH, of Regina, is charged with:
- Carry concealed weapon [CC 90]; and
- Aggravated assault [CC 264(1)].
Both accused are scheduled make their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Monday, June 8, 2020.
