On Saturday, August 29, 2020 at approximately 12:25 a.m., police officers working in patrol noticed a vehicle driving erratically in the area of 4th Avenue and Angus Street. The vehicle was seen driving through a red light in an intersection, driving in the incorrect lane, travelling at a high rate of speed, and displaying other erratic driving behaviors. With assistance from the K9 Unit and the Stolen Auto Unit, police deployed a tire deflation device (spike belt) in the area of Dewdney Avenue E and Rupert Street and the lone male driver of the vehicle was arrested. Police confirmed the vehicle was stolen. As a result:
Thirty-three year-old Tyler Wayne EDWARDS, of Regina, has been charged with:
• Operate Conveyance Dangerous To Public [CC 320.13 (1)];
• Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000 [CC 355 (A)];
• Fail to Comply With Probation Order [CC 733.1 (1)].
EDWARDS will make his first court appearance on these charges on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
