The discovery today (Monday, September 14th), of a deceased adult male has initiated a death investigation by the Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service. The male was found, outdoors, in the area of 6th Avenue and Park Street.
On Monday, September 14, 2020, at approximately 7:56 a.m., police were dispatched to the area of 6th Avenue and Park Street, for a report of an unresponsive person, on the ground, just north of the C-P railway tracks at that area. C-P rail employees noticed the male and tried to rouse him, but could not. Police and EMS attended and the male was pronounced deceased by EMS. The Coroner and Forensic Identification were called to the scene as well. At this time, an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of this person’s death.
The deceased adult male has been identified and his next of kin have been notified of his death. His name will not be released by police at this time. The Coroner has ordered an autopsy. At this stage, the Coroner has indicated that this does not appear to be a criminal matter. There will be further investigation, led by the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, in order to determine as closely as possible, the circumstances surrounding this death.
