A 20 year-old Regina male is facing charges in connection with a hit-and-run collision with a pedestrian on Friday, October 2, 2020.
At approximately 9:45 p.m. on October 2nd, police were dispatched to a report of a vehicle/pedestrian MVA at McCarthy Boulevard and 9th Avenue N. Early information suggested a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, which then drove away from the scene. It appears the victim of the MVA did not sustain injuries that required treatment.
Minutes prior to the hit-and-run, a vehicle with the same description as the suspect vehicle was reported to have been driving erratically in a nearby parking lot. Investigation led police to the suspect vehicle, and the male driver was located inside the vehicle. He was arrested without incident and taken into custody. As a result:
Twenty year-old Jaxson Barry NELSON, of Regina, has been charged with:
- Operate Conveyance Dangerous To Public [CC 320.13 (1)];
- Failure To Stop After Accident [CC 320.16 (1)].
NELSON will make his first court appearance on the charges on November 16, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
