A 20 year-old male has been charged with aggravated assault, endangering the life of a one year-old girl, following an investigation by the Regina Children’s Justice Centre*.
This investigation began on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, when patrol members were dispatched, at 5:24 p.m., to hospital for a report that EMS was en route to the hospital with a critically-injured, one year-old, female child. EMS advised that the child’s injuries were suspected to be the result of physical abuse. Once at the hospital, the child received medical treatment, which is ongoing at this time. Police investigators from the Regina Children’s Justice Centre were requested. Although this investigation is still ongoing, investigators determined there was sufficient evidence to charge an adult male, who is not related to the victim, but lives in the same residence.
