Continued investigation into a robbery that occurred at a Regina business earlier this month, has led to an arrest and charges against a 23 year-old Regina male.
The robbery occurred on October 2, 2020, at a business in the 2100 block of Albert Street. An employee of the business was stabbed in the hand in this incident. Continued investigation into this robbery led to identification of a viable suspect and a potential location. At approximately 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2020, plainclothes investigators went to a residence in the 2000 block of Rose Street where the suspect was seen briefly before he closed and barricaded the door. Negotiators made contact with the suspect but he would not come out. Approximately two hours after the first police units arrived on scene, police entered the building and took the male into custody without further incident. Further investigation resulted in several charges, most related to the October 2nd robbery.
Twenty-three year-old Kashtin Wade Joseph HUNTER, of Regina is charged with:
- Unlawfully at Large [145(1) CC];
- Assault with a Weapon (Oct. 2nd) [267(a) CC];
- Robbery [344(1)(b) CC];
- Wearing a Disguise with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence [351(2) CC]; and
- 2 X Fail to Comply with Conditions of Release Order [145(5)(a) CC].
HUNTER made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. (today), Friday, October 16, 2020.
