On Saturday, December 19, 2020, at approximately 3:25 a.m., police were dispatched to a residence on the 300 block of Forget Street for the report of a weapons offence involving a knife. Information received was that an adult male rang a resident’s doorbell, and was seen looking inside the resident’s vehicle. When the resident confronted the male, the suspect appeared to be holding a knife and approached the resident, who then went back inside the residence to call police.
Police approached the area and saw a male matching the description of the suspect. Police announced their presence, and the suspect fled, ignoring police commands. A Police Service Dog pursued the male, biting him. The suspect was arrested and taken to hospital for treatment of injury, and subsequently charged.
Thirty-three year-old Barry APOOCH, of Regina, is charged with assault with a weapon [CC 267(A)].
APOOCH makes his first appearance on this charge in Provincial Court on April 15, 2021, at 9:30 a.m.
