The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, has begun a death investigation with the discovery, this morning (Dec. 1st) of a deceased female in the area of 23rd Avenue and Hillsdale Street.
The call to the Regina Police Service Communications Centre came in as a request for a sick or injured person at approximately 7:28 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of 23rd Avenue, where they and EMS located an adult female laying, unresponsive, in the snow. EMS confirmed that the female was deceased and police requested a Coroner and Forensic Identification members to the scene. In addition to securing the scene and gathering evidence and information, police confirmed the identity of the deceased person and have requested the help of the RCMP to notify out-of-town next-of-kin.
This investigation is ongoing and there are no other details for release at this time.
