There were no serious injuries but neither vehicle was fit for driving after a collision on the weekend, in which a Honda CRV struck a police vehicle at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Albert Street.
An unmarked RPS vehicle was proceeding southbound on Albert Street through 6th Avenue. It was struck by a Honda CRV, which initially stopped at a stop sign, but then proceeded westbound on 6th Avenue at Albert Street. The Honda struck the rear of the police vehicle on the driver’s side, spinning it into a snow bank. The airbag deployed, causing minor injury/discomfort to the female officer, who was checked and cleared by EMS at the scene.
The 38 year-old male driver of the Honda was issued a traffic ticket ($230.) for proceeding from the stop sign before it was safe to do so.
