The Regina Police Service is releasing the identity of the victim in the city’s first homicide of 2021. The victim is 38 year-old Amber Dawn WOOD, of Bienfait, Saskatchewan.
The family of Amber Dawn WOOD has been notified of her death. The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, continues to investigate this death as a homicide. WOOD was an occupant in a residence on the 700 block of Athol Street the morning of Saturday, January 16, 2021. At approximately 8:10 a.m., police and EMS were dispatched to this location for an injured female, believed to be the victim of a shooting. The seriously-injured victim was taken to hospital by EMS and was pronounced deceased a short time later. Police secured the scene and requested the Coroner as well as the additional resources of Forensic Identification and Major Crimes.
