Regina Police Service investigators have laid a charge in connection with the 2nd homicide in 2021 in Regina. A 39 year-old male has been charged with second-degree murder in the homicide of a 30 year-old Regina male. The victim has been identified as 30 year-old Jeffrey Gerald LEHTO of Regina. His family has been notified of his death and offered support through Victim Services.
This investigation began as an assault case at approximately 8:50 p.m. on January 19, 2021, when police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Quebec Street for a report of an injured male. When police and EMS arrived, they found a male who had sustained injuries described as serious. EMS transported the male to hospital, where he passed away on January 20, 2021. With this information, the focus of the investigation changed to become a homicide case. Continued investigation led to the arrest of a 39 year-old male who was subsequently charged.
Thirty-nine year-old Adam R. HOOK, of Regina, is charged with Second-Degree Murder, contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code. HOOK will make his first court appearance on this charge in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. (today) on Thursday, January 21, 2021.
