The Regina Police Service, working in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, confirms an early reported weapons offence involving a female being shot is now a homicide investigation. This is the first homicide in Regina in 2021.
At approximately 8:10 a.m. on January 16, 2021, members of the Regina Police Service were dispatched to a residence on the 700 block of Athol Street for a report of a female being shot. Upon police arrival, a female was found to have sustained serious injuries. EMS (Emergency Medical Services) transported the female to hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. The deceased adult female has been identified and her next-of-kin have been notified of her death.
