Two males are facing charges in connection with an investigation into a robbery that occurred in the 800 block of Garnet Street on Sunday, January 31, 2021.
On January 31st, at about 2:00 a.m., police were dispatched to the 800 block of Garnet Street for a report that a male victim had just had his vehicle stolen from him at gun point. Police arrived and located the 20 year-old victim, whose Chevy Colorado had been forcibly taken by two suspect males. Not long after, another officer located the stolen vehicle, in the 4100 block of 5th Avenue. There was a male in the passenger seat and the driver was out on the sidewalk when the officer tried to arrest him. The suspect male resisted and a brief physical struggle ensued. Another officer arrived and the male was safely handcuffed and placed in a patrol car. The passenger was arrested without incident. When police searched the truck, a pellet handgun was found.
Twenty-three year-old Kaj Storm SPARVIER, of Regina, is charged with:
– Robbery [344(1)(B) cc];
– Resist Arrest [129(a) CC]; and
– Breach of Probation [7833.1(1) CC].
SPARVIER made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. (today) Monday, February 1, 2021.
Eighteen year-old Blake Robert Paul CACHENE-RACETTE, of Regina, is charged with a Breach of Conditions of Release (curfew) [145(5)(a) CC]. He was released on an Undertaking to appear in Provincial Court on June 21, 2021.
