The Regina Police Service Drug Unit (RDU) completed enforcement on Friday, March 26, 2021, in relation to an illegal drug trafficking investigation within the City of Regina.
The RDU executed seven CDSA search warrants; four on vehicles and three on residences located in the 3900 block of Green Falls Drive, on Dixon Crescent (directly across the street from a school) and on Lorne Place.
As a result of the investigation, police seized approximately 650 grams of crack and powder cocaine, 62 grams of fentanyl, and 10 grams of an unknown powder. Investigators also located and seized $14,500 in currency, multiple cell phones, digital scales and other evidence to support drug trafficking. As a result of the enforcement:
37 year-old Rony CELESTIN, of Regina, and 27 year-old Fatima Halia Rosemary DESJARLAIS, of Regina, were both charged with the following offences:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine [CDSA 5 (2)];
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl [CDSA 5 (2)];
- Possessing Proceeds of Crime Over $5000 [CC 355 (A)].
25 year-old Grant JEAN-LOUIS of Terrebone, Quebec and 22 year-old Travis SOOSAY of Edmonton, Alberta were both charged with the following offences:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine [CDSA 5 (2)];
- Possessing Proceeds of Crime Under $5000 [CC 355 (B)].
All accused made their first court appearances on the charges today (Monday, March 29, 2021) at 9:30 a.m.
