On Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at approximately 7:50 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the corner of Dewdney Avenue and Park Street. There were two occupants inside the vehicle. Police asked both individuals for identification and it was determined the male passenger had multiple warrants for his arrest. As the male got out of the vehicle cooperatively, officers noticed a firearm inside the vehicle. Police then also asked the female driver to exit vehicle, and both the male and the female were taken into custody. Officers searched the vehicle and located a sawed-off shotgun and a knife inside. As a result:
Twenty-six year-old Delmont ASAPACE, of Regina, has been charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition in Motor Vehicle [CC 94 (1)];
- Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition [CC 86 (1)];
- Possession of Firearm Knowing It’s Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92 (1)];
- Possession of Firearm Knowing Serial Number Has Been Tampered With [CC 108 (1)(B)];
- 2 X Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary To Prohibition Order [CC 117.01 (1)];
- 2 X Fail to Comply With Probation Order [CC 733.1 (1)].
Thirty-one year-old Michelle Kayla DAVIS, of Regina, has been charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition in Motor Vehicle [CC 94 (1)];
- Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition [CC 86 (1)].
ASAPACE made his first appearance on the charges in Provincial Court this morning (March 11, 2021) at 9:30 a.m.
DAVIS has been released on an undertaking and will make her first court appearance in Provincial Court on July 19, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.
