Investigation by Regina Police Service officers into a report of a weapons offence has resulted in the arrests of an adult male and female, and charges against both.
On Thursday, April 15th, 2021, at about 10:34 a.m., members of the Regina Police Service were dispatched to the 700 block of Connaught Street for a report of a firearms offence. Information received in the call indicated that there were two people fighting in front of a residence and that both appeared to be holding long guns. When police arrived, a female was taken safely into custody. In her arrest, a shotgun shell and a folding knife were located. A male was taken into custody as he exited a residence and a firearm, matching a firearm described in the call, was located in the house. Police cleared a neighbouring house to ensure there were no inured persons inside and then, based on the circumstances and evidence, obtained a search warrant. A .243 calibre rifle was located and seized in the search. Further investigation into this incident found evidence that the .243 rifle had been fired inside the house earlier in the day.
