A vehicle pedestrian collision yesterday, investigated by the Regina Police Service, ended with minor injuries for the pedestrian and no charges against the driver.
On Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at about 3:39 p.m., police were dispatched to the 4000 block of James Hill Road for a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a child. Upon arrival, police located the victim: a seven year-old male, who was checked by EMS and taken to hospital. The driver of the vehicle was also present at the scene. Through investigation, police learned that the child had run onto the street from between parked cars and run into the passenger side of the vehicle. Investigators determined the likely speed of the vehicle to be less than 30 km/h. It was learned that the child would remain in hospital a little longer for observation but appeared to have no serious injuries.
At the conclusion of the investigation, it was determined that there would be no charges against the driver of the vehicle.
