The Regina Police Service, working in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, confirms an earlier reported death investigation involving an injured male is now a homicide. This is the eighth homicide in Regina in 2021.
Shortly after 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2021 members of the Regina Police Service were dispatched to the 800 block of Princess Street where they located an injured adult male. Patrol officers provided first aid to the victim until EMS arrived. The victim was then transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased person has been identified as 33 year-old Jason Lee BIRD of Regina. His family has been notified of his death and Victim’s Services resources have been offered.
This investigation is ongoing and there are no other details for release at this time.
