On August 7th, 2021, at approximately 3:17 am, members of the Regina Police Service attended to the area of Arcola Avenue and Victoria Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan for a complaint of a robbery which had occurred outside on the street. Prior to police arrival, the male suspects had fled. The adult male victim sustained minor injuries caused by bear spray. Personal items were stolen from the victim.
A short time later, Regina Police Service Members located 4 youth females and one adult male in the 2200 block of Harvey Street, who matched the description of the suspects.
The four youths arrested cannot be named in accordance with provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
A 13 year old youth has been charged with:
- Robbery [344 (1) (b)].
A 15 year old youth has been charged with:
- Accessory After the Fact to Commit Indictable Offence [463 (A)].
A 14 year old youth has been charged with:
- Robbery [344 (1) (b)], and
- Fail to Comply with Disposition [137 YCJA].
A 15 year old youth has been charged with:
- Robbery [344 (1) (b)], and
- Obstruct Peace Officer [129 (A)].
The four youths will make their first court appearances in Provincial Court on August 9th, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
In addition to the four youths, 20 year old Avison McKay of Regina is charged with:
- Robbery [344 (1) (b)] and,
- Fail to comply with Probation Order [733.1(1)]
Avison McKay will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Monday, August 9th, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.
