One male is facing five charges in connection with an ongoing investigation into the theft of a firearm, compound bows, and other hunting gear on the weekend.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2021, to a business parking lot in the 4900 block of Gordon Road for a report of a theft from a truck involving a firearm, ammunition, three compound hunting bows, hunting equipment and clothing. The investigation led to identification of potential suspects, as well as information about the suspect vehicle. One suspect was arrested the evening of September 4, 2021, in the 1800 block of Alexandra Street. This suspect was bitten by a police dog in the arrest, so he was taken to hospital by EMS for treatment before being taken to the RPS detention area. The suspect vehicle was located unoccupied in the 1900 block of Connaught Street. A significant quantity of the stolen property was recovered. This investigation is ongoing.
Twenty-nine year-old Andrew Johnthon PELLETIER, of Regina, is charged with:
- 3 X Theft over $5,000, section 334(a) CC;
- 2 X Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to order, s. 117.01(1) CC.
PELLETIER made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m., on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
This matter is still under investigation.
