On Thursday, September 16th, 2021, Regina Police Service members discharged a CEW, commonly known as a Taser, in an arrest. This advisory is in keeping with the Regina Police Service’s commitment to notify the public each time a CEW is discharged against a person.
On Thursday, September 16th, 2021, at approximately 10:30 p.m., police located a stolen Ford F350 truck parked on the 2700 block of 5th Avenue. Police attempted to arrest the driver, who resisted and was combative. Police deployed a CEW, which was effective in allowing police to gain control of the male safely. The male sustained minor injuries and thereafter was transported to the hospital for treatment. Upon search of the truck, police located stolen property.
Thirty-one year-old Justin MARTINEAU, of Regina, is charged with:
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.00 [355 (a) c.c.],
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00 [355 (b) c.c.] and,
• Resist Arrest [120 (a) c.c.]
Justin MARTINEAU will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Friday, September 17th, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
