A 19 year-old male, already charged in the robbery of a taxicab driver and the theft of his vehicle, is facing additional Break & Enter and Assault charges.
Investigation into a series of similar events, all occurring on October 8, 2021, led to the same individual already accused in the taxicab robbery. These are the additional events:
A break and enter at a residence on the 3600 block of Grassick Street shortly before 8:00 a.m. This incident resulted in the assault of a female resident.
Another break and enter at approximately 8:05 a.m. on the 3100 block of Cameron Street. The suspect entered a garage, but left after encountering a resident.
On the same day, at approximately 8:30 a.m., a male was sitting in his parked vehicle when another male approached the vehicle and opened the door. The suspect male grabbed the male in attempt to pull him from the vehicle. When the suspect could not pull the victim from the vehicle, the suspect male fled.
In relation to the afore-mentioned incidents, 19 year-old Desmond KEY, of Regina, is charged with:
- Break and Enter and Commit Assault [CC 348(1)(B)];
- Break and Enter with Intent [CC 348(1)(A)]; and
- Assault [CC 266].
KEY appeared in Provincial Court on these additional charges on October 15, 2021.
