A 42 year-old male was in court today on charges of Robbery and Obstruction following investigation into a recent event.
On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, just before 5:00 a.m., police were dispatched to a business in the 1700 block of Dewdney Avenue for a report of a robbery. Preliminary investigation indicated a male entered the business armed with a screw driver and robbed the store of currency and products. Police were able to get a description of the suspect and, a short time later, a male matching that description was found two blocks away. The male was detained for the investigation and is alleged to have given police a false name. A canine team tracked back toward the business and found a bag full of items stolen in the robbery. A search of the suspect yielded further evidence linking the male in custody to the robbery.
Forty-two year-old Daniel Joseph PAPEQUASH, of Regina, is charged with:
- Robbery [344(1)(b CC]; and
- Obstruction Peace Officer [129(a) CC].
PAPEQUASH made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. today: Wednesday, October 27, 2021.
