The Regina Police Service is investigating the assault of an 33 year-old male, who also became the victim of a hit and run collision in the same event. A 47 year-old female has been charged in connection with the collision, but the assault is still under investigation.
This investigation when police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Victoria Avenue at about 2:13 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021, for a report of an assault in progress. A witness described seeing a male being assaulted by a group of people. The suspects fled on foot, leaving the victim on the street. A vehicle then struck the male and continued west-bound on Victoria Avenue. Police and EMS arrived and the victim was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious.
Investigation into the collision led to police to locating the vehicle and identifying the adult female driver. She was charged in connection with the collision.
Forty-seven year-old Nicole HENRY, of Regina, is charged with Failure to stop after a collision that causes bodily harm, section 320.16(s) CC. HENRY was released on an undertaking to appear in Provincial Court on December 16, 2021.
Police continue to investigate the assault.
