On Monday May 9, 2022, at approximately 6:30 pm police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Angus Street for a reported weapons offence. The victim heard a male yelling at a female to hand over her cell phone. The male victim intervened and the suspect began walking towards the victim with a knife in his hands. The victim was able to push the suspect away and get into his parked car. The victim was then able to drive away. Police attended to the area and located a male matching the suspect description. The suspect was arrested without incident. Further investigation found the original female walking away from the suspect was the victim of an attempted robbery. The suspect had followed the female in the 1100 block of Angus Street and demanded her phone. When the female victim refused to turn over her phone to the suspect, the suspect produced a knife and followed the female victim, yelling at her to give him the phone. This was when the first male victim intervened.
