Two adult males are facing a total of ten charges, after police investigation into a suspicious vehicle overnight.
On May 10, 2022, at approximately 12:30 a.m., a patrol supervisor was heading northbound on Elphinstone Street near 7th Avenue when a dark sedan, which had been eastbound on 7th Avenue took a sharp turn north onto Argyle Street. The police officer followed as the vehicle made several sudden turns, possibly an attempt to avoid police. A check of the license plate showed the plate was stolen property. Officers attempted a traffic stop on Albert Street, but the vehicle sped away. With the help of other police units in the area, the car was observed heading onto Wascana Drive, into Wascana Park. The vehicle was abandoned minutes later, with two individuals running away. Canine unit members located a loaded shotgun only a few feet from the car. The two suspects were tracked successfully by Canine Unit members and arrested near 13th Avenue and Pasqua Street.
