A 25 year-old male is facing criminal charges in connection with a vehicle/cyclist collision yesterday (Tuesday, June 21, 2022).
Just after 7:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the 100 block of Rose Street for the report of a hit and run. The caller had indicated the incident occurred near Broad Street and Fairview. Further investigation found that the driver of a white pickup truck had been eastbound on Fairview, stopped at the stop sign and then proceeded to make a right turn on Broad Street. The truck hit the back tire of a 12 year-old boy’s bicycle as the boy was attempting to cross the street. The caller had followed the driver of the truck to Rose Street where the driver pulled over. The 12 year-old was not injured in the incident. Further investigation led to Hit & Run charges.
Twenty-five year-old Jonathan DAUK, of Regina is charged with:
- Fail to stop after collision s. 320. 16(1) CC;
- Driving while disqualified s. 140(1) TSA
DAUK was released on an undertaking to appear in Provincial Court on August 15, 2022.
