A 32 year-old Regina male is facing charges including Aggravated Assault after an incident last Friday afternoon that sent one male to hospital.
This investigation began at approximately 4:05 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2022, when a male was seen trying to break into a business compound in the 2100 block of Scarth Street. The suspect was using bolt cutters to cut a fence securing the compound. When the suspect was confronted by a security staff employee, the suspect allegedly swung the bolt cutters at the legs of the employee, striking him. The suspect fled and the victim: a 60 year-old male, was transported to hospital for treatment of injuries described as serious but not life-threatening. The incident was captured on video and further investigation led to the arrest, on Saturday, June 18, 2022, of a 32 year-old male.
Thirty-two year-old Walter Bradon Wade SANDERSON, of Regina, is charged with:
- Aggravated assault, s. 268(1) CC;
- Attempt Break & Enter, s. 348(1)(a) CC;
- Resist Arrest, s. 129(a) CC); and
- Possession of Break-in Instruments, 351(1) CC.
SANDERSON made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court, at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022 (today).
