A 13 year-old male and a 15 year-old male are facing charges after a robbery on Monday afternoon.
On Monday, September 5, 2022, at approximately 2:40 p.m., police were dispatched to Mill Bay for a report of a weapons offence involving a firearm. Investigation revealed that earlier in the afternoon, a male victim was robbed by two males in the parking lot of a business on the 1700 block of Dewdney Avenue East. The victim then encountered the suspects of the robbery again in the area of Mill Bay. At that time, one of the suspects is said to have pulled out a firearm and shot at the vehicle that the victim was in. Nobody was physically injured.
When police arrived, they located the two male suspects and both were taken into custody without incident. As a result:
A thirteen year-old male and a fifteen year old male, who cannot be named in accordance with provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, have each been charged with:
• Robbery [CC 344 (1)(B)]
The youth males made their first court appearance in Provincial Youth Court this morning (September 6, 2022) at 9:30 a.m.
