The Regina Police Service, along with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, is asking for the public’s assistance in finding the identity of the deceased person found on Thursday afternoon, which was the subject of a previous news release.
On Thursday, October 20, 2022, at approximately 3:20 p.m., police were dispatched to Wascana Lake for the discovery of a deceased person in the water near Willow Island. Regina Fire and Protective Services assisted in recovering the deceased individual. Both police and coroner attended the scene, and are working to determine the nature of this death.
Despite current efforts, the deceased’s identity remains unknown to police at this time. The location of entry into the water also remains undetermined.
The deceased person is described as male, appearing approximately 60 to 70 years old, approximately 5’3” tall, medium build, wearing a grey long-sleeved quarter-zip top, black Columbia fleece jacket; black North Face rain jacket; black pants; green, blue, and white Asics running shoes; and grey crew socks.
