Prompt action by security officers at a downtown business led to the arrest of a knife-wielding male on Tuesday.
On December 20, 2022 at approximately 5:34 p.m. police were dispatched to a retail centre in the 2100 block of 12th Avenue for a report of a weapons offence. The preliminary information received indicated that security officers approached a suspicious male as he was about to enter a retail store. When confronted, the suspect male pulled out a large knife and then fled on foot. Police arrived and located the male suspect, who was taken safely into custody.
Twenty-six year-old Albert W. ANAHKWAT, of Regina,is charged with Possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace, section 88 of the Criminal Code. ANAHKWAT made his first court appearance on the charge in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.
