Three adult males are facing several firearms-related charges after investigation into a “shots fired” incident in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 12th.
At approximately 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2023, police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Athol Street for a report of shots fired in the area. The caller was able to provide a description of one person seen in the area where the shots were heard. Police attended and spotted a male matching the suspect description. The male fled on foot and a Canine track was unsuccessful in locating the suspect, but did find a backpack containing a sawed-off shotgun. Officers then heard more gunshots and, with the assistance of a Canine team, were able to locate and arrest three adult males in the area of the 1300 blocks of Athol and Montague Street. One male sustained a dog-bite injury. A second Canine team assisted officers in locating several items, including firearms, as evidence. Officers also found a bullet that had struck a residence in the 1300 block of Athol Street, travelling through the exterior wall, and through the kitchen, lodging in the kitchen wall. Upon further investigation, all three males were charged.
