On Monday, May 8, 2023, it was reported to police that robbery had occurred at a retail business on the 1800 block of 9th Avenue North.
Police learned that a male was in the business filling a bag with items. The male then attempted to exit through the front door, but it was locked by staff. The male then struck a staff member who attempted to stop his exit, leaving via the back door.
On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, a male committed a theft at a restaurant on the 2700 block of Avonhurst Drive. The suspect male entered the restaurant and occupied the washroom for over an hour, then came out claiming staff had gotten a past order incorrect, demanding compensation. When he was refused, the male took merchandise without paying, and exited.
Investigation determined that the same suspect was involved in both incidents, who was identified as a 25 year-old Regina male. The male was located and arrested yesterday, Sunday, May 28, 2023 and charged for both occurrences.
Twenty-five year-old Scott Russell AGECOUTAY, of Regina, is charged with:
- Robbery [CC 344(1)(B)];
- Shoplift Under $5,000 [CC 344(B)];
- 2 X Failure to Comply with Probation Order [CC 733.1(1)]; and
- 2 X Failure to Comply with Condition of Undertaking [CC 145(4)(A)].
AGECOUTAY made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court today, Monday, May 29, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.
