Two people are facing charges after a hit and run incident late Saturday evening (June 3, 2023). The call came in to the Communications Centre shortly after 11:00 p.m. The caller stated there was a vehicle that was flipped on its roof and the two occupants were exiting the vehicle and leaving the scene.
Patrol officers and members of the Canine Unit attended and discovered an SUV that had hit a parked vehicle and was on its roof. Officers knew by the evidence at the scene and witness statements that the occupants of the vehicle were injured and required medical attention. They began an investigation that led them to a nearby residence where they found a male and a female with injuries. They were transported by EMS to hospital for treatment.
A search of the vehicle turned up a loaded firearm and ammunition. As a result of this investigation an adult male and an adult female are charged.
Fifty-one year-old Oliver WOBBE is charged with:
- Failure to Stop After Accident [CT 320.16(1)];
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm in Vehicle [CC94(1)];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [CC91(1)]; and
- Careless Use of Firearm[CC86(1)].
Twenty-one year-old Dakota BRITTAIN is also charged with:
- Failure to Stop After Accident [CT 320.16(1)];
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm in Vehicle [CC94(1)];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [CC91(1)]; and
- Careless Use of Firearm [CC86(1)].
Both WOBBE and BRITTAIN will make their first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on July 19, 2023 at 9:30 a.m.
