The Regina Police Service can confirm that the death of a 19 year-old male on July 27, 2023 is a homicide.
The investigation into the circumstances of his death began after the discovery of an injured adult male at a home in the 1400 block of Rupert Street.
Officers were dispatched to the residence shortly after 11:00 pm. When they arrived they found a male who was the victim of a gunshot wound inside the residence. Despite life-saving attempts by both police and EMS, the male was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police secured the scene, and requested the Coroner as well as additional police resources.
A 16 year-old male, who cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with:
- Second Degree Murder [CC 235(1)].
The youth made his first court appearance on the charge in Regina Provincial Youth Court this morning, August 2, 2023 at 9:30 a.m.
