A 48 year-old male is facing a charge of Second-Degree Murder in relation to a homicide that occurred over the weekend.
Police were called to the 1900 block of Montreal Street shortly after 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023. Initial information indicated there was an injured male lying outside a residence. Police and EMS attended and located an adult male who was suffering from serious injuries. The victim, a 61 year-old male, was transported to hospital but succumbed to the injuries. Officers secured the immediate area and requested the additional resources of the Major Crimes and Forensic Identification units, as well as the Coroner.
On Sunday, November 5, 2023, officers charged 48 year-old Roy Julius Dennis Sayer with the following:
- Second-Degree Murder [CC 235(1)].
SAYER will make his first appearance on this charge in Regina Provincial Court this morning, Monday, November 6, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. This is the eighth homicide in 2023.
