On Monday, August 12, 2024, at approximately 4:35 a.m., while on route to another incident, police observed a vehicle on fire in the parking lot of the area of the Mount Pleasant Sports Park.
Police arrived and located several young persons on scene. Investigation determined that a 14 year-old youth had lit the vehicle on fire, and the young male was arrested and charged. The vehicle was also determined to be stolen, which led to a 29 year-old female arrested for theft of auto.
A 14 year-old youth, who will not be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
- Arson Causing Damage to Property [CC 434].
Twenty-nine year-old Cheyenne Dawn KHANAPACE, of Regina, is charged with:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle [CC 333.1(1)].
The youth makes his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Youth Court today, Tuesday, August 12, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. KHANAPACE also makes her first appearance in Provincial Court at that time.
