One male youth, who was the subject of a previous media release, is facing charges following an incident related to three firearm offences.
On Saturday, September 28, 2024, officers were dispatched to Bard Crescent after a report that a residence had been shot at overnight. Officers arrived on scene and observed bullet holes in the front windows of the residence. The following morning (Sunday, September 29, 2024) a second call for service at this same address was received. The caller stated that the residence had been shot at once again. Officers arrived and observed multiple new bullet holes in the front of the residence.
At approximately 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2024, a third report of shots being fired at a residence was received. This time, it was a residence in the 300 Block of Halifax Street. The caller believed it had happened overnight.
As a result of this investigation, a 17 year-old male, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act is charged with:
- Discharging a Firearm in a Reckless Manner [CC 244.2(1)(B)]
The youth made his first appearance yesterday, October 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
