What is Community ON?
Community ON is Neighbourhood Watch reimagined for the world we live in today. There are more ways than ever before to invite the public to take an active role in crime prevention.
When it began in the 1970s, Neighbourhood Watch was not much beyond signage, block captains and nighttime citizen patrols. Today, we can do better thanks to the availability and speed of modern communication tools.
Community ON is a collection of crime prevention initiatives and programs designed to empower the community.
Many of these programs have been successfully operating for years in our city. However, the Regina Police Service is constantly looking for new community partnerships and offerings to enhance what we are already doing.
When our community is switched ON and we are working together, we have a greater chance of success when it comes to crime prevention. If you see something, say something. Working together, we can keep Regina safe.
