The Regina Police Service has arrested a 20 year-old male in connection with an aggravated assault that was the subject of a previous news release.
On February 21, 2020 at approximately 4:10 a.m. police were dispatched to a weapons offence at an apartment residence on the 1400 block of Rae Street.
Police arrived and located an injured 21 year-old female and a 42 year-old female, who has sustained severe injury consistent with assault with a bladed weapon. EMS attended to both and transported the 42 year-old female to hospital. Investigation determined that the 42 year-old female overheard a struggle between a 20 year-old male and a 21 year-old female, and attempted to intervene, when she was assaulted with a bladed weapon by the male. The male then fled the scene.
Regina Police Service located the 20 year-old male on the morning of February 26, 2020, who was arrested and charged.
Twenty year-old Warren CRANE, of Regina, is charged with:
- Aggravated assault [CC 268(1)];
- Assault with a weapon [CC 267(A)]; and
- Fail to comply with conditions of release order [CC 145(5)(A)].
CRANE makes his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Thursday, February 27, 2020, at 9:30 a.m.
