On Friday, June 11, 2021, at approximately 6:00 p.m., police were dispatched to the 600 block of Adams Street for a report of a weapons offence involving a firearm. Early information suggested two males were seen shooting a firearm in the area. When police arrived, officers located two males matching the descriptions of the suspects provided. Both were arrested without incident. In a search of the area, police located a firearm. As a result:
Eighteen year-old Creedance Walker MCKAY, of Regina, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Weapon [CC 88];
- Careless Use of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition [CC 86 (1)];
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm With Ammunition [CC 95 (1)(A);
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [CC 91 (1)].
A 15 year-old Regina male, who cannot be named in accordance with provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Weapon [CC 88];
- Careless Use of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition [CC 86 (1)];
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm With Ammunition [CC 95 (1)(A);
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [CC 91 (1)].
MCKAY will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on October 4, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.
The youth will make his first court appearance on these charges in Youth Provincial Court on October 4, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.
