On Thursday, April 25, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of 4th Avenue and Robinson Street, after a report that an injured male was being chased by a suspect male. The suspect male was unsuccessful in apprehending the injured male and fled the scene.
Police arrived and located the injured male who had been assaulted. The male was transported to hospital and received treatment for his injuries and was later released.
Investigation into this assault led to a search warrant being executed in the 1000 block of Retallack Street on Friday, April 26 2024. During the search warrant execution, there was an accidental discharge of a firearm that led to the previously reported injury of a police officer. Eight persons were taken into custody. Investigation determined that all eight persons would be charged for the forcible confinement and assault on the male.
Fifty-seven year-old Donald Dwayne DELORME, 47 year-old Terrina Lynn PELLETIER, 35 year-old Krissie Elizabeth BIRD, 35 year-old Samuel Tyson WESAQUATE, 34 year-old Janelle Amber DELORME, 29 year-old Andrew Charles HERASWYMIUK, 18 year-old Elizabeth MCNABB, and 18 year-old Ella Gayle NAGY, all of Regina, are jointly charged with:
- Forcible Confinement [CC 279(2)]; and
- Assault with a Weapon [CC 267(A)].
HERASYMUIK is also charged with:
- Aggravated Assault [CC 268(1)].
The eight accused were remanded and made their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court yesterday, Monday, April 29, 2024.
