The Regina Police Service is releasing the age of the victim of the homicide. The victim is a 48 year-old male. The name of the deceased is being held pending notification of next of kin.
At approximately 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, police were called to a residence in the 1000 block of King Street. The caller had gone to check on a friend who had not been seen for a few days and discovered a male, believed to be deceased, in the residence. Police and EMS arrived and confirmed the person was deceased. Officers secured the scene and requested that the Coroner attend.
Police will continue, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, to gather information that will clarify the circumstances of this person’s death. There is no more information to be released at this time. The investigation is continuing.
