The Regina Police Service is advising residents to be more attentive than usual when it comes to safeguarding their vehicles; in particular, large Ford F-Series trucks. In recent weeks, police have seen an increase in the thefts of older model Ford Super Duty F-250 and F-350 trucks.
During the week of March 24th to March 31st, ten of the 19 stolen vehicles in Regina were of this make and model. These thefts are not trending in any specific location as they are occurring throughout all of Regina.
Police are encouraging owners of older-model Ford Super Duty F-250 and F-350 trucks to use an anti-theft device (steering wheel club) to ensure the security of their vehicle. The Regina Police Service also advises residents to ensure their vehicles are always locked, garage door openers are removed from the vehicle, and no valuables (especially keys) are left in plain sight inside the vehicle.
Anyone who witnesses suspicious activity is asked to call the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500. In the case of emergency, please dial 9-1-1.
