Charges have been laid against three persons in connection with a weapons offence that began with a break and enter earlier this week.
On July 22, 2020, police were dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of Retallack Street for a report of a firearms offence. One of the victims indicated three suspects had just broken into her home. Police arrived to see two males exiting the house. The males ignored police commands to stop and ran westbound from the house. In the foot pursuit that followed, officers were able to catch one male and located items belonging to the victim which the suspect had discarded during the foot chase. Through investigation, police learned that two males and a female forced open a door to the house and began looking for valuables. The 49 year-old female occupant of the house was assaulted while the suspects rummaged for items. The suspects stole several items and fled. While police were with the victims, they were able to intercept a female in the area who was identified as one of the suspects; she was also taken into custody. Further investigation led to a search, on July 23rd, of a residence in the 900 block of Rae Street. A male was taken into custody in this search and identified as the third suspect. All three adults have been charged.
