A 61 year-old female is facing theft and fraud-related charges after an investigation by the Regina Police Service Financial Crime Unit.
This investigation began in July of 2021, when the Regina Police Service was contacted by a non-profit, community-based organization in Regina. The organization had undergone some changes in accounting and a transition to a new financial management system in March, 2021. In that transition and accompanying audit, there emerged a pattern of financial irregularities and the matter was turned over to the Regina Police Service. Over the course of the investigation, police gathered evidence that led to charges against a 61 year-old female.
Sixty-one year-old Arlene Marie IRVING, of Regina, is charged with:
- Theft over $5,000, s. 334(a) CC; and
- Fraud over $5,000, s. 380(1)(a) CC.
Before the conclusion of the investigation, police learned that IRVING had re-located to British Columbia. Police there assisted RPS by serving IRVING with a summons to appear in Provincial Court in Regina on January 17, 2022.
