The Regina Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance following a break-in to a trailer belonging to the Saskatchewan Wheelchair Sports Association.
On the morning of September 5, 2023 a staff member with the association noticed the trailer door was ajar and the latch and lock were broken. Further inspection by the employee revealed multiple pieces of equipment were missing from inside the trailer. Among the missing equipment – five sport wheelchairs, 12 rugby balls, 12 basketballs, 12 hockey sticks and two bags. The value of these items is in the tens of thousands of dollars. They are extremely specialized pieces of equipment for athletes with disabilities.
At the time of the break-in, the trailer was located in a parking lot in the 500 block of Park Street. The break-in occurred sometime between September 3 and September 5, 2023.
